What are the success rates and number of Endeavour Scholarship and Fellowship available?
  • The Endeavour Scholarship and Fellowship are the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, merit-based scholarships programme

Currently theprogramme offers around 500 Scholarship and Fellowship per year however, the Department is unable to estimate how many there might be for any one country/category in any one year as the number of Endeavour Scholarship an Fellowships offered varies annually depending upon financial commitments, levels of demand and the number of meritorious application received for each category.

Although Endeavour Scholarship and Fellowship are a merit based, competitive process, the final selection is also required to support current Australian Government priorities and strategic policy objectives and may target specific countries and regions for Scholarship and Fellowship.

While we publish the names of successful applicants, we do not publish application data or success rate as we believe that this is not a true Indicator of success given the number and quality of applications varies significantly each year. We would also not like to discourage high caliber applicants from  applying.

Will successful and unsuccessful applicants be notified of the outcome?

Yes. Both unsuccessful and successful applicants are notified of the outcome via email once the selection process is completed.

If my application has been unsuccessful, can I be provided with information as to why?
  • Due to the high volume of applications received, the Department does not provided individual feedback on why an application was unsuccessful
  • There may be a number of reasons why an application does not pass through to the next stage of the selection process
